First Anniversary!

My only request was that we did something that had nothing to do with camping. We go camping all the time. I wanted our anniversary to be a little more special. So we spent the night in Park City and had a grand old time. (but of course, I forgot the camera even after I went back inside to get it)

On the way up the canyon we stopped for our massage appointments. This is one of our guilty
(& expensive) pleasures. We've gone 3 times together in the past year! If you've never had the pleasure of getting a professional massage, you should.

Who loves Main Street? I DO! Saturday night we wandered the street looking for a place to eat. Since the recommended sushi bar was not open yet and we were starving, we decided to try the
Blue Iguana. The guacamole there was incredible! I've been craving it ever since. We picked up some ice cream and headed to the hotel to veg and watch a couple movies and... well, all that other stuff too ;)

In the morning we went looking for a place for breakfast and found the Park Silly Sunday Market on Main Street! It was perfection. Farmers, bakeries, restaurants, artisans, clothing shops... they had it all. We ate crepes and egg sandwiches and wanted to buy pretty much everything we saw.

Next we went to the outlets and did some shopping. (I know it was Sunday, we're sinners)
Daniel found this brown leather bomber jacket that he just had to have. I thought he looked pretty cute in it so I bought it for him. :) Gosh, we spent a lot of money this weekend. But it was well worth it. A vacation only 20 minutes from home! not bad, I must say.

Marriage just gets better and better every day...
Happy anniversary to my very best friend!

Lone Peak

A couple weeks ago we went to hike Lone Peak. It was absolutely miserable. 6,200 feet of elevation in 4 1/2 miles. I couldn't even make it all the way. Daniel even said it was the hardest hike he'd ever done...

At this part of the trail, the directions say to LEAVE the trail and just make your way up the side of the mountain.... seriously?? That was when my legs started failing me.

It was shortly after this that Paul and I gave up. It was a gorgeous view of Utah Valley while we waited for 3 hours for Daniel to finish the last half mile to the summit and back.

I don't think I'll ever be attempting that one again.

Happy Birthday Tess!

Tess turned one on August 1st. Last night we threw her a party.
She's just so stinking cute, I have to put some pictures up.

Danielle made her this adorable blanket.
(sorry you had to miss it Dan, everyone was raving about it.)

Momma always makes the best birthday cakes.

Tess wasn't quite sure why everyone was singing at her...

...or what we were making her eat.

But it turned out to be delicious.

I'm pretty sure Tess is the cutest one-year-old around :)
