one year ago...

I can't believe its been a year since Daniel was in his accident. The other day he came out of the back room, out of breath. He said "I did TWELVE pull ups! Thats one less than I could do before my accident."

A miraculous recovery, yes. But still, every time I think about those few horrible months I almost want to cry...
This was the day after the accident, right after they took the breathing tube out. Luckily, he doesn't remember a thing from that whole first week in the ICU.

This was his 3rd chest tube, draining fluid from his lung about 3 weeks after the accident. He'd lost somewhere around 30 pounds at this point.

if you care to read about his recovery in very great detail you can look here.

otherwise, how about we just forget that all happened, eh?

Our Wedding

the best thing about our wedding (besides getting married) was all the talent that went in to it.

I mean, just look:

This lovely lady sewed my entire dress and made it look absolutely perfect. I cant believe how many random people came up to me that day any asked me where I got it. I was proud to tell them that my grandmother is the most talented seamstress in the world.

My incredible friend Liz Moore did my hair for the day. I couldn't have asked for any better.

My bouquet, all the flowers and the decorations at the reception were done by Daniel's dad. Everything turned out beautiful.

The cake, the dinner AND the desserts were made by my mom. She's absolutely amazing. I don't know anyone who didn't enjoy the pork tenderloin or the pavlovas.

see what I mean?? I love my family.

All these photos were taken by Heidi Uhl from Retrospect Studios. She was great to work with!

welcome!

I caved. Thanks to you book clubbers, I'm now posting my life for all to see. But I must admit, it's kinda fun once I can get the hang of it.

for an update: We FINALLY picked up our wedding prints and a disk of all the photos. I'm excited to make lots of copies! Soon I'll post a few of my favorites.

also, tonight Daniel and I are leaving to St. George for a few days. You know you are ready for a break when you have ditched classes for the past three days...
